The 7th National Biomedical Computation Resource Summer Institute Monday-Friday, 30 July - 3 August, 2012, La Jolla, California
OVERVIEW National Biomedical Computation Resource (NBCR) Summer Institute (SI) aims to provide significant training opportunities for members of the biomedical research community in targeted areas of computational multiscale biomedical research:
| Computational Cardiac Electrophysiology and Mechanics |
| Computer Aided Drug Discovery |
| Mesoscale Modeling |
Students will participate in hands-on in-depth training sessions on key NBCR tools that are freely available to the academic community, such as:
| Continuity | AutoDock | APBS |
| CADD | MGLTools | GAMer |
Participants will have opportunities to work with their own data and analyses in problem solving sessions, and hear talks on new directions under the theme of multiscale computational modeling and simulation. Students are encouraged to present posters to discuss ongoing challenges in their own research and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
Limited scholarship support and Best poster prize will be awarded to selected participants. Space is limited, and students are encouraged to apply early.
VENUE SI 2012 will be held in La Jolla, California on the campuses of University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI).
TUTORIAL TRACKS Each of the following topics represents a parallel track that will meet half days during morning or afternoon sessions.
| Morning Session | Afternoon Session |
| Track 1: Cardiac Mechanics and Electrophysiology | Track 4: Mesoscale Modeling of Cardiac Myocytes |
| Track 2: Computer Aided Drug Discovery Pipeline | Track 5:Virtual Screening using AutoDock Tools |
| Track 3: Molecular Electrostatics and Diffusion | CADD lab |
Please help distribute the NBCR SI 2012 Flyer to your colleagues and students.
